Dealové I Am Not My Hair Black History Presentation At The Donoho School. MAWH.TV


Black History Month was created to focus attention on the contributions African-Americans made to the United States. It honors all people of color from all periods in U.S. history. From the enslaved individuals first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today, they are celebrated.

When I ask who is Dealové she stated, “Dealové is a child of God made in his image. With God being in the forefront of everything I do, I allow the spirit to guide me on my day-to-day journey as a mother, sister, entrepreneur, wife, and most importantly a child of God.” Her journey to success has not been an easy one. She is thankful for all of her life experiences. Originally from Brooklyn New York, she now currently resides in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Alabama. This is where she found her aligned tribe The Loc Kingdom. She developed a passion for doing hair as a little girl. Years later, Love' moved to Alabama, where she perused her passion. “When I decided to go full-time in locks, I wanted a place where all people could come and all hair textures are welcomed.” She stated.

Now, she owns a salon and event center dedicated to her talents known as The Loc Kingdom/ The Lions Den. At the Loc Kingdom, they offer a variety of natural hair styles: braids, box braids twists, with a specification in dreadlocks.    quality, hair- designs hmpeople in films, commercials, concerts, and many more.Dealové hair artistry is masterfully unique, creative, and radiantly shines with elegance. In 2009, she imagined a unique way to unite people from her community with a hair show called "I Am Not My Hair Hair show." that launched in 2012. The hair show has been A huge success in Anniston, Al. On June 4, 2023 will be the fourth annual Show. 


This year, Dealové has partnered with MAWH Productions, an international production company with sub offices throughout the United States. This year's hair show will be star studded with guest appearances. This year's headliners will be, Patrice Lovely formally known as Hattie from the Tyler Perry franchise, comedian Patrick Washington, actor/model Mogul Victoria Hilton from the Hampton’s Discovery plus. 


Recently, Dealové was invited to give the first ever black history presentation about the history of African-American hair.Through there mission and core values, Donoho students, teachers, and parents are encouraged to Live with honor, Engage their passions, act with humility, and delight in wisdom.

Dealové and Landon was chosen by Jennifer Whyte to present this year’s first ever Annual black history presentation. Dealové presented the history behind African-American hair to the student body, faculty, and staff. She began her presentation with facts about hair and the similarities of all hair types. Students were encouraged to participate in a high-energy presentation that captured the attention of all present in the auditorium. Her unique presentation was filled with models, demonstrations, and re-enactments that offered an inspirational visual to her audience. Students were encouraged to use their unique imagination in dance, songs, and talents. The faculty expressed how monumental this was for the students at the school to enlighten their minds around Black History. After the presentation, students were able to talk one-on-one with Dealové and Landon Brooks to further the knowledge presented. The administration for the school thanked them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to help the students understand the importance of unity.
