Isaac Brown & GANG & The Gospel Music Workshop of America: Where Heritage Meets Ministry
The 58th Annual Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) convened in Montgomery, Alabama — and one unforgettable moment came when Isaac Brown & GANG (God’s Anointed New Generation) took the stage. Known for their signature sound — rich tones fused with jazz, revival, and traditional choir precision — GANG’s performance electrified the room. As the Holy Spirit moved, the audience responded with a passion only true gospel music can stir.

At this year’s Youth and Young Adult Late Night Service, Isaac Brown & GANG were not just performers — they were vessels. This late-night gathering, a beloved tradition of GMWA, gives young artists a platform to showcase their gifts before a packed house of believers. The movement of CAD/YYA (Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults) is gaining serious momentum within the Workshop, and GANG’s impact on that stage was undeniable.

Their breakout project, “Breakthrough LIVE” (2016), climbed to #16 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums, solidifying their place as leaders in this new generation of gospel ministry. But for Isaac Brown & GANG, it’s always been about more than music — it’s ministry.

My Journey with GMWA — By Landon Brooks
I’ve been blessed to serve as the official photographer for the GMWA. Though my work has expanded into acting and directing, GMWA remains close to my heart. The Workshop treated me like family — and that’s exactly how they treat everyone.

One of my favorite things about GMWA is their genuine belief that:
“Everybody is Somebody.”
That message echoes through every rehearsal, every service, and every connection made during the conventions.
As Artistic Director of MAWH Productions, I travel the country capturing moments that matter — and few moments are as powerful as those shared within the GMWA family. I often tell artists the truth: Your content is your connection to the world. Capturing your ministry in a cinematic, professional way helps expand your reach and preserve your legacy.
That’s why artists and ministries trust MAWH Productions for coverage, photoshoots, and content that lasts. We work with up-and-coming artists on flexible budgets because when we partner together — everybody wins.

Dr. Dion Hood — A Life Devoted to the Arts, Ministry, and Purpose

When you meet Dr. Dion Hood, you don’t just encounter a gifted artist — you meet a man on a mission. A proud graduate of Alabama State University’s Theater Department, where he trained under the legendary Dr. Stewart, Dr. Hood hails from Gadsden, Alabama, but his influence stretches across the globe.
In 2025, Dr. Hood returned once again to the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) — a place that feels like home. With a rich history in the Workshop, Dr. Hood has graced its stages, taught drama workshops, mentored emerging artists, and continually encouraged his students to become part of the GMWA experience.
Today, he serves as Director of Fine Arts at Universal Academy in Dallas, Texas, where he leads with the heart of an educator and the vision of a creative leader. His passion fuels his mission to empower the next generation of artists, reminding them that the stage is more than a platform — it’s a pulpit for purpose.
Beyond his work in the United States, Dr. Hood has produced and coordinated productions across Japan, expanding his reach as a global creative force. He also served as Resident Director for the prestigious Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, bringing his unique blend of artistry, leadership, and faith to the international stage.
Every year, Dr. Hood returns to Alabama to direct the Dr. Daniel Cason Kids Christian Music Summer Camp, nurturing young talent and helping children discover both their creative gifts and the power of ministry.
From performing in two major GMWA productions to directing, teaching, and leading on an international scale, Dr. Hood’s message remains crystal clear:
“Never forget the purpose behind your gift.”
In an industry that often prioritizes fame over faith, Dr. Hood challenges young artists to stay grounded — to ensure their music and art always carry the life-changing message of the cross, leading others to salvation and deliverance, no matter the style or genre.
A Global Legacy of Purpose
Whether in a classroom, on stage, in Japan, Scotland, or back home in Alabama, Dr. Dion Hood lives out a truth every artist should embrace:
It’s not just about performing… it’s about purpose.
